We have Sky broadband and now need a landline just to make the odd daytime call.
How do we get this?
Our engineer said we can plug a phone in but calls are pricey. Do we need to subscribe the £18.99 a month? The links keep taking us to Broafband deals,
Sky were quite unhelpful on the phone and wouldn't listen to our requirements - they just kept repeating their jargon they have to read out.
can anyone offer advice please?
thanks

As the engineer said, you just need to plug in a phone handset. If your broadband Hub has a light on the front panel labelled 'Voice' and it's lit, plug your phone into the socket
at the back of the Hub. Otherwise plug it into the wall
If you don't pay a monthly subscription for a call package, you'll be on the Pay as you Ta.k package which you'll probably find suitable for occasional calls.

Call your mobile or
Dial 17070 from your landline and listen to the prerecorded message
Check your Sky app or
Look at any emails Sky have sent you about your Talk service or
Call Sky by dialling 150 (free).

You have a data bearer (copper or glass) carrying broadband to the address: that's the 'line
You also have a default Sky Talk Pay As You Talk service for voice calls.
The optional Sky Talk Anytime Extra add-on is currently priced at £13.50pcm (offers may be available)
Without that an outbound daytime call to a landline is 25ppm, so Anytime Extra becomes a saving if 55 minutes of such calls are made in a month.
