@lovetina28 that's correct, I'm afraid. Only the connection to your broadband Hub will work. The old phone line is disconnected, The simplest solution would be to buy a cordless DECT phone (they're not unduly expensive) where a base station plugs into the Hub, and as many handsets as you need connect cordlessly with it to make and receive calls.

@lovetina28

These additional handsets just need connecting to a mains plug socket elsewhere in the house.

Just to add - only for charging overnight. For making and receiving calls the handsets don't need a mains connection.

Hi, I was wondering if that is the case, they did not inform me at the time! I have just contaced Sky and still waiting for an answer. Yours does make sense, we have one of these phones, I will bring the main base down to the router and plug it in. Cheers Les

@lovetina28 it's in the set up instructions, but I appreciate that it may have been set up by an engineer, rather than yourself. It would have been helpful had they explained, but.....

Sky won't be able to offer any help: of all the ISPs only BT/EE offers a 'wireless telephone adapter'.  Unfortunately this catches out a lot of households when they moved to full fibre: there's no longer any physical connection between internal phone extensions and the 'digital voice' service arriving at the router, so handsets plugged into wall sockets cannot function.
