Hi All,
I recently got my Sky Broadband installed and it came with a phone line which comes as part of the package. I plugged a BT Premium digital phone into the router.
Do I need to buy a call package for minutes? Or does it use the free WiFi calling which comes with the package?
I appreciate this is a Noob question, but it's new to me
Thanks in advance

There is no 'free WiFi calling'.
Sky uses an incredibly badly worded billing layout: it's supposed to be interpreted as the facility being made available at no extra cost but making calls is billed per minute on the Pay As You Talk tariff.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI'm guessing you're referring to Internet calls, rather than WiFi calling?
Although it's somewhat misleadingly described by Sky as a free service, Internet calls are charged in exactly the same way as standard calls, so if you don't have a call package you'll pay for every call you make (apart from calls to freephone numbers like 0800, obviously).

I apologise ... I do not understand this answer.
The screenshot you shared shows each type of call as free. Is the £32 charge above it a monthly fee? We already have the 'free' phone landline in our Broadband package. So this is why I ask. Sky's language certainly is muddly!
Thanks for any help.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@stillj there are no free calls with Sky Talk (except 0800 numbers and Sky customer services).
You either pay a monthly subscription to a call package such as Sky Anytime Plus which includes calls to some numbers at no additional cost (01, 02 and 03 numbers for example), or you pay for every call.

No, it shows the service is available for 'free' but subscribers are somehow expected to understand that using it has a cost unless they have chosen to add a call-inclusive package such as Sky Talk Anytime.
I posted it to illustrate how very misleading this is.
