Moving to SOGEA

I've had an email advising that I need to change my broadband as my service won't work after Jan 2027. I don't use my landline so that shouldn't effect me anyway.  I've been told I can go on SOGEA, can someone pls tell me what this is. I refused to go on full fibre earlier in the year as the engineers told me they would have to dig up my block paving for the cables, which I was not happy about. For reference, I live in a cul de sac with only a green cabinet at the end of the street and no telegraph poles for lines. Surely there must be another way, they can't be digging up people's properties.

Apparently, everything remains the same and something just needs to be done remotely. Can anyone shed any light on this? Thanks

@manjup as I understand it, SoGEA is essentially broadband without a phone service. The infrastructure doesn't change - you still have a copper cable from the cabinet to your home.
