Connecting Sky Talk

I had Full Fibre1500 installed by Open Reach in December last year and now to use the Talk feature , but find that it's not connected. I understand that I need a filter and a connecting cable.

I'm not having any success with Sky's BOTS.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for clarifying. First try a factory reset of your Hub, by pressing the WPS button for 30 seconds. If that doesn't kick it into life, it's best reported to Sky. Once you've done that we can ask Sky's messaging team to contact you here so that you can report it via a private online chat, if you wish.

Your phone needs to be plugged into the socket at the back of your broadband Hub. No filter or connecting cable required. Just plug the end that used to go to the wall socket into your Hub instead.

Looks ok. What do you mean by not connected? You mean no dial tone? Has it ever worked since installation in December?

Re: Connecting Sky Talk

No dialing tone. Dead as a dodo

I'm wondering if the installation engineer didn't activate the Sky  Talk function.

Re: Connecting Sky Talk

Tried resetting as advised and no joy. I have a feeling that it wasn't activated on installation by Open Reach,
We used our mobiles for several months rather than BT. I don't think the number has been reallocated, I rang it and got the unobtainable tone.

Re: Connecting Sky Talk

Sorted. Following your previous reply I opened my account to get my account number prior to making the call as you suggested. Are you sitting down?

I copied the account number then prior to closing it scanned through it out of interest. Are you still seated? Lo and behold, towards the bottom of the page there was a Sky Talk telephone number, I rang it on my mobile and it worked. Great joy, whilst still feeling a bit of a prat, but I've had absolutely nothing from Sky advising that the system was active and a that a new number had been allocated. Why no email, I get them about quite trivial matters?

Anyway, thanks for your help and take care.
