Why have I not been able to keep my phone number that I have had for 33 years? I had Sky broadband and talk fitted and was not informed of my new number. When I spoke to the sky agent I asked if my number and email address would remain the same, I was told yes they would.
The only way I found out was when I rang my daughter she noticed a different number and luckily answered it to find out it was me. That was how I found out my number had been changed. I now have to contact everyone who had my previous number and tell them my new one. Not happy if I can return to talk talk and retrieve my number I will.

Your previous number will not be retrievable. Unfortunately it will have gone into a pot of old numbers to eventually be reallocated.

When I spoke to the agent to set up sky broadband and talk, they said I would keep my number and email address. Okay not guaranteed but I wasn't even told what my new number was. I found out accidentally when I rang my daughter who noticed a strange number was calling. Every time I ring sky I speak to a different agent and have to explain the problem every time. Only one agent seemed to be reading notes made from a previous cal. I have now got to inform family friends bank NHS and many others of my new number. I am an OAP and these sort of issues are more prevalent at a later age. Not happy with sky's response to the problem they have caused. All calls to sky are recorded, so they will be able to listen to what their agent told me.

I'm sure you'll receive an apology in response to a complaint, but with the switch having completed, I don't think Sky will be able to do anything to retrieve your number

Yes I have already been told my number is unatreivable. What if I had 1,000 business cards just printed all now with the wrong number on? I am going to contact talk talk who I was with previously to see if they can help. The annoying thing is my old number will at some time be allocated to someone else. If I could return to talk talk and retrieve my number I would.
