Cannot make calls

Broadband, tv all working but phone has constant engaged tone, so can not make calls.  I just switched to sky broadband and sky talk, so broadband set up and working but phone line is still with previous supplier, so phone is not connected to the sky broadband box, as my existing phone contract does not expire for ano 2 weeks, so connecting to the sky box does not work, as phone wont be switched to sky for ano 2 weeks.  So phone is still connected to existing line but why does my phone not work

So far as I'm aware, Sky can only provide a broadband service by taking over your line fully from your previous provider, so your phone service will also now be with Sky.

Is there a Voice light on your broadband Hub and is it lit?

Re: Cannot make calls

Yes the voice button is lit.  I did try to connect my phone into the sky broadband hub, but the cable that came with the box, does not connect into the uk slot, only the ROI one but still the phone did not work by trying this

You don't need to use the supplied cable. The phone socket at the back of the Hub is a standard phone socket so just unplug your phone from the wall socket and connect it directly into the Hub instead. I'm assuming from your post that you're a UK customer.

Re: Cannot make calls

Thanks, I think I need a new cable that fits the uk port on the sky hub, as my existing phone cable doesn't fit that port
