When calling a Vodafone landline it just syas the number is not recognised. Looked on the Vodafone forum and other people have the same issue but both parties say the other has to fix it.

Sounds like a routing issue which you'll need to report to Sky. Either call 150 or if,you wish we can alert Sky to your post and they may be able to help via their private online messaging service here.
