Perhaps worth noting that
a) Openreach engineers don't fix phone extensions these days
b) If you have Sky Talk over SOGEA broadband (and so your 'main' phone handset plugs into the rear of the Sky Hub) then extension sockets no longer work: that's by design and cannot be fixed.
