They're bundled together. However you don't need to use the phone - just sign up for the Pay as you Talk package which has no monthly subscription. You just pay for any call you make - so no calls, no charge.

You don't have to have an actual landline phone connected but you will be provided with a number as broadband and Sky Talk are banded together. Just make sure you are on the Sky Pay As You Talk tariff so as long as you don't make any calls you won't be charged for any.
