Has anyone been able to get battery back-up from sky? My mother only has a landline, no mobile phone and doesn't want one. When I visit I sometimes have to wander around the garden to find a signal. I've tried speaking to various customer services but just get told she'll have to get a mobile. This would be no good anyway if she's in the house and needs help as she wouldn't necessarily have a signal.

@Davva2 yes, there have been a couple of posts here from customers who, after some effort, have persuaded Sky to provide a battery backup.
I might be doing Sky an injustice, but I get the impression that there's no standard process for obtaining one and what they actually provide is not specifically designed for Sky (although it does the job), hence the response from the customer services advisers you've spoken to.
It might be best for your mother to raise a formal complaint. I'd suggest using the Mail Us option, rather than Chat or calling.
