BT to Sky (Line Rental?)

Hi

I've recently started the process of moving from BT Fibre to Sky Ultrafast, just to be completed early March.

I made an 'assumption' that entire BT package would be closed down and Sky provide everything I need to get up and running with them. I've had a message from BT saying "Sorry to see you go...etc" but then that they wont be closing the account as I will still be having services from them. When I've asked, they have said it will be the line rental as thats with BT.

Is this true, not sure I've had made the switch if I new I had to pay line rental to BT too!

@LJONESYUK  The line rental comes with you and is paid as part of your broadband service with Sky.

You will need to get back to Bt as the price you are paying to Sky for your package includes line rental.

@LJONESYUK

Have you perhaps paid BT up-front for an advance period of line rental to benefit from a reduced rate?

Re: BT to Sky (Line Rental?)

Thanks everyone, I'll wait to see what happens once the installations taken place. Hopefully it's just the customer service person at BT not understanding what's going on.

Re: BT to Sky (Line Rental?)

I've just had the same message, after informing BT that I was leaving for Sky, the price I was quoted for leaving a few hours earlier has increased by £20 , it seems like we both have similar problems with BT.my activation date is also early March
