sky+ remote

hi can someone help please, i have bought a new sky remote control and programmed it to the tv the volume and power button aswel as the source button are all working but it wont do anything with the sky box itself the light goes on on the remote when pressed but doesnt connect with the box.

What kind of Sky box do you have - non-recording Digibox, Sky+ (no HD) or Sky+HD?

And which version remote have you bought?

its a sky+ non hd, not sure of the version number its not on the remote.

@chreyll I'll assume, then, that it's a Sky+HD remote as they're most commonly on sale. You'll need to re-configure to make it function with your Sky+ box. To do that:

1 Press "TV"
2 Press and hold "Select" and "i" together until the red LED flashes twice 
3 Press "1" ("one") to make the remote operate a Sky+ box
4 Press "Select" - the red LED should flash twice
5 Press "Sky" and give it a try
