Using old sky+ box

I currently have a sky Q box but money is a bit tight just now and my sky package is very expensive. I am thinking about cancelling my subscription. I know the Q box will need to be returned so I tried my old Sky+ box to see if it still worked so I could use it as a free view box. I'm getting a message saying no satellite signal is being received. Would I need another dish?

@Jojo+S  No the Q boxes use a wideband LNB, you need either a univeral LNB or Hybrid LNB

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@Aaron69 the implications of doing so are the same, then. Besr in mind you won't be able to use your Sky+ box to record or playback without a subscription.

You won't be able to cancel if you're in contract.
