@phuqwitz wrote:A slightly different question after reading the above;
A friend has a (satellite) HD box but no subscription.
The card that is in the box is not paired. We have tried to pair it, but cannot find a way to pair the card and box without having a subscription as we are reuired to enter the last four numbers of the bank account from which the subsciption is paid!
Is there a way to do this please? He is disabled and cannot afford a subscription but needs to be able to receive the HD channels as the SD ones are ending soon.
I'm not sure what pairing the card would achieve in any case. All FTA channels, including those in HD, should work without a card.

Ok. So why can we no longer receive film4 hd? When we could previously on the old box (same card, no subscription).

Film Four is FTA.

Hi. @phuqwitz I have found that without the subscription on the viewing card, Sky News works on 881 fine in SD. There are numerous other SD Channels in the 800's that also show in SD without a subscription. Film 4 is 855. Hope that helps.
