When I try to add a progamme to the schedule for recording I get the series option but then the record symbol doesn't appear against the programme. It's happening to all channels and only started doing this 2 days ago when I was going to update my weekly viewing. I've tried twice to unplug the box and re-start but it is still happening.

Thank you for the reply. I followed the instructions but it hasn't resolved the problem, sadly. I select record and the series link but it still doesn't show the red record symbol nor appear on my planner. I've tried different channels, in case it was a channel 5 problem, but the same thing happens.

You may need to perform a Full System Reset (FSR)

Will a FSR delete the programmes on my planner and those already recorded?

Thank you, I'll take note of all my sheduled recordings and do an FSR. Hopefully it will work.
