USB

Trying to use a USB stick but it says theres a problem with connection

No Sky television box has customer USB 'stick' functionality, even when they are equipped with such ports.  Best guess is they are there for firmware updates to be applied during manufacturing or refurbishment.

 

Edit: there was a USB WiFi adapter for Sky+ HD boxes (the SC501)

@Chinacat55  You've posted on the Sky+HD thread and while it's been a long time since I used this system I don't recall them having USB on them or even enabled.

 

Can you clarify what exactly your trying to connect with this dongle?

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

@GD1 yes the sky+HD box does have USB but cant be used like you said can only be used for power I think @Chinacat55 would want to use it for recording shifting or backup which cant be done unfortunately
