Turning off the Sky box

Hi

Could a Sky technician or employee please tell me if it will damage my Sky Box if it is turned off each night.

Thanks

This forum is primarily customer-to-customer help

The box is designed to be left running 24/7, turning it off and on each day will shorten the life of the box and it is more likely to fail when it is turned on given the boxes age (at least 7 years old)

You will not be able to record/download anything whilst it is uurned off

It's a customer Community. It's unlikely that Sky will reply to you. The box is designed to be left,on, but it won't do any harm to switch it off. But why? Sky+HD boxes have an Eco power mode which puts into a low power deep sleep overnight.
