Morning,
Have seen on socials etc,an image of a Star Wars themed Sky HD remote control, simply stating MAY.
As a proud owner and user of our Sky HD boxes, and a huge Star Wars fan,I was just wondering IF this is one of Sky's gimmicks or ad campaigns,or if they're actually going to be releasing them for sale?"
Sorry if that comes across as a dumb question, but as a Star Wars collector, its certainly got me interested.

I sold a Princess Leia one on eBay a couple of years ago. I bought it on sale from Sky back when I had a Sky+ HD box and left it unused in a drawer. I sold it for more than double the price I paid Sky for it!

Given Sky+ HD boxes haven't been manufactured for nearly a decade I'd think a new remote release is unlikely.
Any current social media image is likely to be one of the many vintage remotes for its nostalgia appeal.

There were apparently ten different themed handsets released back in 2015 as a promotion for The Force Awakens.
C-3PO, Darth Vader, the stormtrooper and the amazing R2-D2 remote...
and
...six art design versions for the likes of Yoda, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker, and second versions for Vader and the stormtrooper to (jack)boot.
