Sky viewing card

My sky card needs replacing. Box doesn't recognise it is there and it looks a bit burnt around the chip.

@Weff1 the discolouration around the chip is normal. What error message are you seeing?

@Weff1 I don't recognise that error, but there is a 'no card' error which maybe is what you're seeing?

 

In the first instance turn your Sky box off at the plug and remove the Card. Wait at least 4 minutes before restarting the box. Once it has fully restarted, reinsert the Card, chip down.

 

If that doesn't resolve it, you'll need to call to request a replacement Card. The adviser might tell you'll that they can't send you a new Card and you'll have to upgrade to Sky Q or Stream. Unless it has changed recently, that's not the case.
