Sky plus no sub

I would like to know if sky has any plans to make the old sky hd boxes recordable without any subscription in the near future? Since it's being relpaced with steaming and sky q.

Not that I'm aware of. And I doubt they will because it may deter users from upgrading.

Not sure why Sky would want to do so, except possibly to upset Freesat....
