Sky not coming on

First it said no satellite and to follow instructions turn off tv etc and now it won't turn on at all

Sounds like a dish misalignment. Although Sky themselves no longer support Sky+ and Sky+HD, if you have Sky Protect through Domestic and General Insurance you can call them otherwise you'll need to employ a local satellite engineer at your own expense to check it (or upgrade to Sky Q or change to Glass / Stream).

@ChookyChoo does the power light on the front panel of your Sky box change from re/amber to green when you switch on and back to red/amber when you switch the box off again?
