Our Sky+ box drops all Sky channels (and stops recording in planner) every 2 weeks. This has been going on for about 8/9 months now. When it happens we have to call Sky support, and they do something (send signal? boost signal? do something as temp fix?) We have been a Sky customer for 14 years, and we've never had the issue until last year.
Sky said it was a viewing card problem, but the problem of Sky service interruption (channels dropping) has continued with a new viewing card. Sky support tell us they will escalate the problem to a manager every 2 weeks when we can call, and they promise to call us back with a resolution and they never do. We continually pay our bill monthly (not sure why) and call them every 2 weeks for a temporary "fix". Our subscription should include what our contract states what channels we SHOULD get correct?!
Any help out there?
Anyone experiencing this?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreCan you clarify what you mean by 'channels dropping'? What error message do you see?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreSounds like your card is losing its pairing from the box, possibly cause by a hardware issue with either the card or more likely the Sky box
If performing a New Install fixes the issue (temporarily) then this would be the same as sky sending the signal to the box and point more towards my conclusion above

Message on screen
"Press Sky then red button to watch this channel or go to skyviewinghelp.com"
This is the message for all sky channels; Atlantic, Witness, Gold, Dave, Comedy Central, Crime, etc)
We should normally get all these channels with our subscription.
For trying to watch recordings from these channels on the planner, the screen is solid blue and we get same message.

We're having the same problem with new viewing card.
We've asked for a new box but they will charge us €90+ for call out.
They keep trying to sell us a Q box which we cant have as our Vodafone internet isn't reliable or strong enough for our 1 tv and a second box in a granny flat.
Any advice, besides cancel our Sky?

Apologies in advance for simple question.
Appreciate any and all advice.

@gal2022 only free channels would work without a viewing card because sky arent making sky+ boxes anymore any box they send out would be a referb box anyway so might be best to just source one locally cheaper or second hand online
