I have multiroom and two sky+ boxes linked to two separate dishes. One of the boxes (dish is high up on the roof) isn't getting a signal, input 2 is fine but input 1 isn't. Is the box not working or is it a dish issue? and if it is just a dish issue can I take a feed off the other dish. The guy who installed it said he fitted the 'connector?' To allow for this. Many thanks 😊

No, all feeds to a box must be on the same dish as the box provides power down the cable
If you connect both boxes to the lower dish and stop using the higher one this will be fine

Re: Sky+ box
Thank you all for your advice. Sorry if I am being daft but does this mean the box is packing in, or already has, or is this something to do with the dish. When I go to services and signal input 2 is fine but input 1 is 'not locked'.
Sky told me they no longer send engineers out to sort sky + anymore. Just trying to keep things simple for my dad as I really don't think he'll be able to work the sky Q interface 🤗🤗.

Re: Sky+ box
May not be a box issue, it could be the cable and/or the LNB
And yes Sky+ is now obsolete and Sky will not fix any faults , you can however employ your own 3rdv party company to resolve issues that Sky will not 🙂

I feel I must disagree (maybe I am misreading this)
Each feed has its own power & in theory the 2 cables could be connected to 2 different LNBs (I have done this with my multisat boxes in the past) but two boxes must not share the same feed unless they are connected though a connecter to isolate the feeds (i.e. they must not both try to send power & also need to isolate the 22KHz signal used to change band - again I have done this with my multisat receivers in the past)
BTW if sharing via an isolating connecter, then the isolated box can only receive the same band/polaristaion channels that the one supplying the voltage & 22KHz tone has set.

To try and identify where the fault lies, start by swapping over the two feeds in the back of the affected box. Then see which Input isn't getting the signal (or maybe they now both will be fine).
