Sky + box won't select channels

Sky box is working but it won't let me watch live tv. I can't select any channels from the select button, it won't work

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Just a switch off and switch on which normally cures all problems but it didn't! I am trying it again

Do the buttons on top of the Sky box let you navigate the TV Guide and choose a channel?

after a 2nd re boot leaving the power off for longer and cancelling the recording I seems to be working normally again, Thank you for trying to help
