@Vinay4 There hasn't been an update to Sky+ equipment for at least 12 months, and probably not for 2 years or more, However we do occasionally see posts here reporting the same problem that you're having

Viewing Cards can be re-paired providing they're in the same boxes they were in in October last year.

Sky can still refresh the viewing rights stored in the Viewing Card by sending a signal to the card, as you mentioned. I'd call again. It seems that some advisers aren't aware or are over zealous in trying to get customers to upgrade.

@Vinay4

You are only talking to other customers here so what is happening when you try to access Sky Sports ?

Re: Sky Sports Issues

Unfortunatley we are stuck with Sky+HD boxes as Q does not work in our property. For the last year Sky Sports and Cinema has dropped out around once a week. Sky is fully aware of this and  can normally fix it yet could not care less about solving the ongoing problem  as they dont "service" boxes anymore. If the call centre is shut I cannot get sports back on until it re-opens the next morning, which is intensely irritating!

If this is happening in your Sky+ box then what do you mean by "dropped out" are you losing the satellite signal ?

Re: Sky Sports Issues

No the Sky signal is fine.  Sky says the problem happens when the boxes receive a systems update and my boxes lose connection to the cards. However, Sky does not "service" these boxes anymore (or so they say) so why are they doing systems updates on them? When this happens the cards in the boxes need to be paired to the box and the signals resent.  I have three boxes in my house yet this issue only happens to two of them, never the third box. The whole thing is totally baffling and utterly irritating but the only solution Sky ever comes up with is to move to Q...which their own engineer has told me will not work in my house (because of terrible wifi accessibility around the house).

Re: Sky Sports Issues

Incidentally, I only ever lose Sky Sports and Cinema, nothing else. Plus Sky tell me this is now a common problem yet I have never heard of anyone else suffering from this issue...or am I the only person still using Sky HD+ boxes?
