Sky Plus HD Box

Hi folks, just wondering if anyone can help. My Sky Plus HD box has suddenly stopped working (it won't turn on). I've got a virtually brand new Sky Plus 1 terabyte box from a family member, how do a pair my viewing card with tte 1 terabyte box or will it just work?

You can't @259Powell 

 

So basically Sky+, being a legacy package, is no longer supported by Sky.

 

You can no longer pair a viewing card to any other Sky+ / Sky+HD box that it wasn't paired to at the end of October 2024.

 

You can still call Sky to discuss your options which will be upgrading to Sky Q or moving to Glass / Steam to continue to view Sky content through a Sky subscription.

@259Powell given that you can't use the 1TB box (except for receiving just the free to air channels), what's happening with the old box? Is the red/amber standby LED lit on the front panel? Does it change to green if you press the power button on the box? Use the physical button on the box, rather than the power button on the remote, to rule out remote issues.

It's the original Sky HD Plus box that won't turn on, I've done a full reset and it still won't turn on.

By 'full reset' I assume you mean you've turned the box off and on at the plug?

Little-used, conceivably, but the youngest Sky+ HD hardware is now a decade old.  Unfortunately as indicated above it's no longer possible to transfer a Viewing Card.
