Sky HD not working just says " it is inisalising " checked and found complete loss of signal. Is it worth getting repaired or update to SKY Q. If upgrade is the answer will SKY replace free of charge?

Sky won't now send an installer to look at a dish connected to a Sky+ / Sky+ HD box unless the address is covered by Sky Protect insurance. You'd have to pay a local independent installer for that.
Q is 'free' in the sense of no up-front fee: Sky will always try to upsell the content bundle and so charge more each month.

The chances are that it's a Dish, LNB or cabling issue rather than the box itself.
