Sky+HD Multi Room telephone connection

I have a Sky+HD box on Multi Room in an area of the house that no longer has a telephone connection as we have recently had building works undertaken an the connection was not reinstated. The room does have Wi-Fi.

Can I re-register the box without a telephone connection?

Newer Sky boxes have no Modem to connect to the phoneline, if you connect your box to the Internet you'll no longer get those out of date emails (I thought they stopped them ages ago)

@Madgreek22  You don't need a telephone connection, the box should already be registered if it's been used before?

A telephone connection has not been required for over 10 years now

Re: Sky+HD Multi Room telephone connection

I have received this email from Sky:

We wrote to you recently asking you to check that all of your Sky boxes are connected to wi-fi or the same working phone line so you get all the services you should be and don't pay more for your Sky Multiscreen, but it looks like you haven't done this yet.

I'm not sure why you asked, then, as it's clear from the message you've received that Sky expect your Multiscreen box to be connected via wifi or the phone line.

Connection via wifi has been an option for years, and the requirement for a single box to be connected to the phone line was abolished many years ago.

Yes, I must say I wasn't sure either - but apparently not.
