My old Sky+ HD box has been connected to my router via an ethernet cable for years with no problems. However, when I changed from DSL to Wan it through a lot of the router LAN connections out, including the Sky box. Lots of resetting and reconnecting has nearly everything sorted, apart from the Sky box, which the router no longer sees. Going into Sky settings it shows an IP address which is now used by a printer, but when I hit the red button to reset it just stays the same. Restting the whole box also has no effect, it just stays on that same IP.
Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreGive the Sky box a manual IP address that is unique,
Hopefully your router will allow you to set this as manual so as not to conflict with something in the future

Thanks for the reply. I've changed the IP address in the Sky settings to one that doesn't appear to be in use, but it still doesn't show in the router network list. The router has an option to connect items manually, but only if there's a MAC address, which I don't have. 😕
