my router will not connect to my sky box but my ipad phone will connect to router why is this plz

I have tried everything that people have suggested and still cannot connect my Sky box to the broadband it's been like this for a week. Please help.

Thanks for any help. I have now done the standard things - shut down and unplugged sky box and removed viewing card. Shut down and unplugged TV. Had a beer and then reconnected all. It worked. !

when i go to services, then settings, then network, all that is displayed is:
Connection to broadband router...............................FAIL
Connection to on Demand..............................................FAIL
IP Addressof this box..........................................................0.0.0.0
DHCP................................................................................................ON
Thats all, it doesnt give me an option to search for anything.
It was ok before the recent software update, I have a spare box from when i had multiroom, so put that in, registered it and it it the same. The broadband is good everything else works and the tv on top of the sky box is linked to broadband fine.
Please dont say power all off and restart, I am way past all the simple stuff.

My red reset button won't work when I try to reset the network on my sky+ box.
I don't have the manual settings so I can't do that either. It was working but just can't get it to work now... No on demand

This worked for me to, but 2nd time round cause first time I only turned sky box off using power on remote - which puts it in standby not off. 2nd time I pulled the power cable ou;. Just saying incase anyone else is doing this to.

My ability to use Catch up and box sets has gone. Says connect to broadband. This problem has never happened before.
Have shut the system down and restarted several times. In settings says no contact to broadband router.

Our router box is connected to our PC in our office until june 28th it was working we have tried to re-enter the password as requested but it showed it had failed

Thank you so much, your solution worked. I wasn't prepared to go through the faff of turning on, switching off, unplugging as my joints are just not up to it anymore...
Anyways, tried this after trying the usual on-screen menu to connect etc and this worked without erasing my planner (which I wasn't too precious about.)
Glad I didn't have to call sky or try to get a replacement or be told I have to upgrade when I'm about to move...
