SKY + Magic eye not working

Hi, I have 2 magic eyes both have worked fine for the past 10 years. However over the past 6 months although the picture and sound are absolutely fine the ability to use the sky remotes to change channels or pause etc have becoome intermittent to such an extend that they are now pretty much not working. The connection is via Co-axual cable to a Wosley UHF splitter and amplifier. Any suggestions? thanks

Replace the eye<s>, clean the internals of the remote<s>, clean the pugs sockets

@caz480 I'd suggest two possibilities:

1. An oxidised RF connector 

2. Failing amp or splitter

As both connected tvs are affected, I'd suggest checking the cable connectors at the Sky box end through to the amp and splitter, as the outputs from all of them will affect both tvs. If necessary, remove the connectors, cut back the cable by an inch or so, then refit them.

Hi thank you for the replies they were both correct. I ended up with a new amplifier box, one replacement magic eye and new connections at both the amplifier and magic eye ends of each cable. All now work perfectly. 😀
