SKY +HD recording plays only for the day.
HI,
I have SKY+hd box. Recently I changed my box as the earlier one stopped working.
Now when I record any program and then try to play it, it plays only on that day. If I have to play that program next day, then it shows the message shown and does not play or show the program.
The message is confusing, it says I need to take the subscription, however that channels is part of my subscription, also I can record it, means I have the subscription and also it plays/shows on aday but not on next day.
It becomes inconvinient that you can watch on same day, but if you are out for 2 days, even though the program is recorded, it does not show the program from next day of the recording.
Can anyone guide me what to do?

Try activating the viewing card in the box:

https://activatemychannels.sky.com/activate
Or via the MySky app - Manage Account > TV > TV Settings > Activate.
Or via your Sky box:
Make sure your Sky viewing card is correctly inserted into the box.
Press Services on your Sky remote
Press 0, 0, 1, Select (setup should now be highlighted)
Scroll across to New Install
Press Select twice

I tried all that previously.
Card number matches with what shown on Tv and online profile.
As mentioned previously, those channels are available to me and can view them regularly. Addionally I can record the program of that channel and can view the recording on that same day. So I feel that also answers the pairing the card. Now if my understanding is wrong in this case, then please advice.
As described earlier, the recorded program does show on next day onwards. It only works for that day only, ie. after midnight the recorded program does not work -( it shows in recorded list, but when you play it, it shows that error message).

Just an update. Called custoemr care. The representative weas good guy, tried to help what he can. Eventyually I have to book an engineer visit as the technical team also could not find the root cause.
The engineer is booked for 3rd Jan. Hope he could fix the issue, I will update on that.

@virajv I think the engineer will say there is nothing they can do and suggest you upgrade you to sky Q but will be interesting glad are you going to update this with the outcome

@virajv yes, I agree. I doubt there's any fault with your Sky equipment. It's more likely to be an account issue of some kind, though I've not seen this reported before.

@Mark39 its definitely an account issue I have the same issue but with sky+ I reported it last march and waited months to see if anything could get done did everything tried other boxes new viewing cards because I dont want to go to sky+HD I just gave up in the end and use my box as a 6 hour timeshift device at least I can use it for 6 hours

I even got it escalated to the viewing card team a special team not the backend team that deals with background software stuff apparently but dont know if they fixed it I suppose I should try and record and wait 6 hours to try and play it back and see if it ever got fixed

in my case its definitely a account issue I think I think its something to do with the sky+ entitlement on the account because the free channels like BBC etc work fine its just subscription channels I get the issue

keep my sky account on sky+ nonHD equipment and probably get a freeview HD box for HD content

Any updates on this as my box has started doing the same (Sky+ HD DRX890) I can record something which works if I play it straight away but if I leave it a day or so then when I try and play the recording it says "Programme synopsis is not available .. Find out how to upgrade your subscription to get this channel at skyviewinghelp.com" Every recording on my HDD (or most of them) are saying the same thing regardless of whether it was recorded live or downloaded from catch up (some say To watch this channel press red or visit skyviewinghelp.com for more information - tried that and wants me to upgrade to Sky Signature) Even programmes I've already started to watch now won't play and I already subscribe to the channels.

Ignore the above.... Sorted. I took viewing card out and wiped the metal contacts on the card, popped it back in and then did a Sky + planner rebuild. Seems to have sorted the problem but I noticed the chip on the card is very discoloured (burned) so might see if I can get a replacement card if the problem remanifests itself.
