Hello,
My box is dying and needs rebooting everyday. Even then some channels say they are not available.
Recordings are still fine.
I have seen replacement boxes on EBay.
If they come with a card is it just a case of plug and play?
Or should I really be using the card from my dying box?

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Clarry Boxes should not come with cards as the cards remain the property of sky at all times and are not transferable
you should use your existing card
also note existing recordings are not transferable between boxy

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Clarry what is the error message you're seeing? A failing hard drive would affect recordings/downloads and playback primarily.
If you obtain a replacement box (choose a DRX890 or DRX895,model) you just need to pair your existing,Viewing Card, with it, so don't throw it away!

Thanks both. I'll keep and use my card should I go this route.
Error message has varied from "not connecting", to "technical fault channel cannot be accessed".
Broadband connecting fine. I'll call Sky before I take action.

You may well be offered a free upgrade to Sky Q, which might be an option. But no reason why you shouldn't obtain a used Sky +HD box if you prefer.
