Remote stopped working

Hi guys my remote stop working with my multiroom box it would change the volume on my TV but not respond to the multiroom box. Ive tried the 7-9 then 1-3 trick no luck ive tried to pair other remotes and that doesnt work either. So not sure whether ive got a remote or box issue.
