Question about changing boxes

Hi I have the original old sky box but it's losing channels. My friend has given me a sky plus box. Can I use it with my card? Or do I need to get a new card?

Unfortunately since the end of last month (October 2024) neither of those are viable options: Sky no longer permits pairing of a viewing card with a second hand Sky+ HD box.

If you want a replacement box for the one you have got you will have to upgrade to Sky Q so give Sky a call should you want to do this.
