Process when configuring new TV

Hi

Forgive me for some breathtakingly naive questions. We’re about to inherit brother’s “newish” 4K TV. We only have Sky Plus (HD), so no UHD, even where those channels exist etc. The main difference will be that new TV has native catch up apps, whereas current one doesn’t.

1. If bro signs out of various TV apps, will he then be signed out of those on all other devices? (Assume not, only need to sign back into apps on his new tv?)

2. We would expect to have to verify appsfor first time on the new tv, but not sure about the same apps within Sky Plus? Do they continue, as not changing Sky box or package? (We don’t pay Sky for Netflix, so will have to use TV app for that)

Obrigado mucho

No. Best thing to do would be for him to factory reset the tv, leaving it a clean playing field for you to set up as you wish.

Yes, as far as the new TV is concerned, you'll need to log in. There are no apps on Sky+ boxes.

Thanks for prompt response. When I said apps, I meant the various channels showing in Catch Up section of Sky Plus.

You won't need to do anything with On Demand /  Catch Up, as your entitlement is part of your Sky subscription which hasn't changed.

@hapazard2  you haven't actually stated which make of tv your about to inherit, but I'm presuming it isn't a sky glass one

No Sky Glass. Over my dead body, not in a million years, I'd have to be dragged kicking n'screaming.
