Pictures freezing on sky + box

After having my old dish changed a few weeks ago my picture has started to freeze, especially on adverts during sky sports but also on some other channels.

Have you requested your installer recheck alignment?

Re: Pictures freezing on sky + box

Both Signal strengths looked good , Skys Virtual Assistant prompted me to change to Single Feed Mode but this made no difference. I did contact Sky Protect again about this who offered me a Sky Q box, but declined this at moment as I only have the leads from the Cush in the room, not internet at moment.
The problem generally happens during the adverts ?  but also just had it on a music channel too, so it is bearable for now, but after reading some of the forum posts about sky + had versus sky a, not sure whether to do the upgrade at the monutey

Sorry I meant leads from the dish, not Cush, plus sky + hd, not had..

im sure you would have guessed that auto correct had stepped in..

Re: Pictures freezing on sky + box

I also thought that when I phoned Sky Protect and mentioned it was happening after the new dish  was installed they might suggest that the alignment might need checking but they went straight to the Sky Q box route.

As I said, I don't want to run an internet lead into the room now and will find out some more about Sky Q before I ever swap..

I still like the ease of the hd box, so until the problem gets really bad, I will stay with it.

luckily I have Prime, Netflix etc.. in another room fed straight from the router, plus a good old hd aerial lead in there too, so the dependence on Sky has been getting less anyway..

Thanks for all the help though.

Is this happening on recordings or live TV?

OK, I was thinking about a disk issue, but not if it's happening on live TV.

Re: Pictures freezing on sky + box

Hi Mark, luckily it is bearable at the moment, but if it gets worse and affects more channels it seems I will have to make a decision about next steps.
I will get the dish alignment checked before anything drastic, but there are so many other options nowadays, many more cheaper than Sky, so will just put up with it for now and decide in the new year
