Pairing new remote on Sky plus hd

Please could someone explain with simple instructions how to pair a new remote control to a Sky+ HD box? There seems to be so many conflicting ideas and a definitive piece of guidance would be absolutely wonderful. Thanks.

Providing you've bought a Sky+HD remote, it doesn't need to be paired with your Sky+HD box. It should work out of the box.

Hi, I would like to enquire if you have a sky plus remote control left in stock I know you don't do it anymore but the play button on mine has a long delay & I want to watch the rest of my planner before I change.

I rang last week & as a result they are sending me a sky Q  that is no good if it has not been sent yet please cancel that one as it it Sky plus I need not Sky Q

I'm afraid that nobody here has one in stock as we're all customers like yourself. My local Asda sells Sky+HD Remotes.
