Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

Yes I also did the chat at lunchtime today, they basically just wanted the IP address for my box too.

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

I'm having this issue too.  Up here in the north of Scotland we have STV rather than ITV and STV's not working either so I can only access downloads onBBC channels, nothing else. It's so frustrating.

I have emailed using the address given here. At least after reading all the posts on here I'm prepared for the nonsense they will try to tell me!

Hi @TheRealFixer , it is a private message on the Community. Just look for a colourful bubble on the bottom left of your screen. If you click that it will initiate the chat.

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

I received a reply to my email saying it is a known issue and they appreciate my understanding and patience in this matter.
I'm  feeling neither patient nor understanding at this moment but there you go.

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

Just logging i have the issue too started a few weeks ago, Sky Atlantic Last of Us Ep 6 and 7  failed in my scheduled planner for no reason, went to download on demand and fails after a few seconds. Tried other on demand channels, other than BBC and ITV which are fine all the sky ones i tried fail each time. Logged complaint with Sky following the forum tips within this thread.

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

Sorry @Lisa-P1987 ,

I have not received any emails (spam checked), nor have I had the message 'bubble' on my browser.  Tried on Edge on Windows/Linux/Android and Firefox Linux/Android and Chrome on Linux/Android - I guess I was missed out.

Seems the common question was what IP address was showing on the box - totally irrelevant as it's an internal (LAN) IP not what Sky would see or use.

As others have reported, the films I have previously purchased from Sky will download so obviously some of the authentication is working.  Did somebody forget to renew a certificate... 😉

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

Thanks @Lisa-P1987 for setting up the chat. I did it, but was not asked any questions other than account verification ones, so hopefully they can gleam the required info from that.
I think based on the number of views the posts on this forum are getting, (and those seen on social media) this problem goes beyond the few of us posting on here. Good luck with a solution.

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

I have now received a reply to my email saying the problem lies with my ISP using CGNAT.

As far as I can tell this is not true but I've emailed my ISP for clarification. It will probably take a while to get a reply since this is Saturday night.

Does anyone else know for sure that they're not using CGNAT but still having the download issue?

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

@AliDun. Most of us with this issue are not using CGNAT. They used that as a reason at the very beginning of this. Check page 3 of this thread. It explains how you can check if you are but most of us are not and still have the same issue!

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

I have confirmation from my ISP that they're NOT using CGNAT.

have emailed sky *again*, sigh.

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

This is NOT an ISP issue - My living room box is fine and i can record anything i want and watch / download anything i like ON DEMAND. My second box (multi room account) which i record the most on connected to the same router and on the same ISP is the one i am having major issues with for the past few weeks, recording failings and on demand not working out of the blue, explain that SKY i have an open complaint with you about this.

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

If it's an ISP issue, how come I can download the BBC and ITV content from catch-up, just not the Sky stuff?

Re: On demand download failure Sky+ on 2 boxes

Yep, we have a variety of ISP's and locations and there are many different one's affected.

Also if it was an ISP issue then we all would not have started seeing the issue at the same time (end of January) when we all have different ISPs.

Sky know it's their issue they have acknowledged it, they just dont seem to want/be able to fix it.
