On demand HD box

My Parents are elderly - my Dad has a HD box he really doesn't want to change the box unless it actually stops working (it's working ok ) but catch up / on demand would be great for him - where can he get the accessory adaptor he needs to plug into his sky box so I can connect to the I router via wps? ( his router is not near his tv )

That would be a Sky 'Mini Connector' or 'Wireless Connector': these are now only listed on eBay and the like (for a few pounds) as Sky ceased production of HD hardware in 2015, and the last few generations before then had built-in WiFi.

There are two models: one connects to the Sky+ box over ethernet cable (if the box has that socket) and the other used USB.  You'd need to choose the appropriate one.

SD501 is USB (connected and powered)

SC201 is ethernet (connected, with a separate PSU plug)

Re: On demand HD box

Or search online for a Network Access Point or Powerline Networking as alternatives for ethernet access😉
