I know you can't pair a different viewing card to an existing Sky+HD box for over a year, but if I bought a working Sky+HD box & viewing card that had been previously paired with it, but had not been used for a while, can I bring this card into my subscription?
The pairing shouldn't be an issue as it has previously been paired to the box, but under a different person's subscription in the past.

@Elliot69 no because the viewing card doesnt belong to your account and viewing cards arent transferable between accounts

Re: Old Sky+ viewing card query?
I thought the only issue was that you can't pair a new card to an existing box.
If this box is already paired & working, can't I simply call Sky & get them to add this card number to my account?

Re: Old Sky+ viewing card query?
Damn...I was under the impression that you can get them to amend the viewing card number on your account & that's that.
Are you 1000000% sure of this fact or you are assuming?

Re: Old Sky+ viewing card query?
@Elliot69 I'd go a step further and point out that all viewing cards remain the property of Sky, not the customer. Therefore, any box bought second hand shouldn't come with a viewing card as that viewing card wasn't theirs to sell.

Re: Old Sky+ viewing card query?
@Elliot69 I think its more about the fact of the active subscription and when you get a replacement viewing card sky supply a free return envelope for you old one so take that stament how you will

The point of no longer permitting Sky+ HD boxes to be transferred is to get them out of use
