Noisy!

Hi

I came downstairs this morning and my Sky box was making a loud noisy, like an over heating fan had turned on, the box wasn't hot and not covered. It's never made a noise before! Any ideas please.

Is this a Sky Q box? You've posted in the Sky+ forum. 

It happens occasionally with Sky Q boxes, typically when the box starts up again after its overnight deep sleep. Restart the box by turning off at the plug for 30 seconds or so and it should restart normally. Nothing to worry about if it's an isolated incident.

And if it's Sky+ / Sky+ HD it may just be reaching the end of its natural life: that hardware hasn't been manufactured since 2015.  Late model boxes are £15 to £30 on eBay if you find you need to replace it..
