No signal = no planner?

Storm Eunice seems to have moved my dish out of alignment. Before realising this as a possible cure for a loss of signal problem I stupidly tried to reboot my Sky HD+ box. I now get a persistent a "Sky box is initialising, please wait..." message. I wasn't too bothered by this as I have booked an engineer to re-align the dish and I always have the programs on planner and on-demand, right? Wrong!!!  It looks like a Sky HD+ box will refuse to initialise unless there is a decent satellite signal. Is there any way to access programs on planner or on-demand without a proper signal coming into the Sky box?

I'm afraid that's right - your Sky box can't start without a satellite signal so unfortunately there's no access to your Planner or any of the box's functions.

Had you not rebooted, your box would have have continued to work for a while (several days) with no satellite signal ☹

I don't think there is anyway around this other than to use Sky Go on a gaming console, pc or Mac or mobile device to watch live and on demand content.
