No satellite signal being received on certain channels.

On some channels I'm getting the message saying that no satellite signal is being received, particularly ITV & often the signal breaks up, pixelates & goes off. I've tried all the fixes, but the problem still remains.

@Tiggerstheman  It is likely your dish is out of alignment, you'll need to give Sky a call.

Re: No satellite signal being received on certain channels.

I also have had loss of certain channels, but only on our upstairs second box. Ch 106 SkyOne which changed to Ch 106 SkyShowcase recently saying "your sky+HD box isn't getting a signal.
Your recordings in the planner and the On Demand  service may still be available."

got same issue with "Ch123 Sky HistoryHD" "Ch124 Sky Nature HD" "Ch156 Crime+Inv HD" "Ch165 NatGeoWild HD" "Ch179 Court TV" "Ch185 Travelxp" "Ch187 That's TV Gold" "Ch328 TalkingPictures" "Ch361 NOW 70's" "Ch401 SkySpMainEvHD" "Ch403 SkySp F'ball HD" "Ch409 SkySp News HD" "Ch501 Sky News HD" "Ch513 Al Jazerra HD"

these are all channels that are available on other sky+HD box & used to be viewable on the second sky+HD box but not now. I've gone through all the standard reset box, unplug & hold certain buttons for certain length of time etc without any change. Anyone got any further ideas please?

Re: No satellite signal being received on certain channels.

would it not be the same for both sky boxes which both work off the same dish?

If it was the result of a dish misalignment, yes it would. If it's the 'no satellite signal' message you're seeing, the cause might be a failing port at the LNB or less likely a cabling issue. The solution's the same though - give Sky a call to arrange a callout so that the engineer can pinpoint and correct the issue.

So what happened when you called your landlord?

Re: No satellite signal being received on certain channels.

I found that in one of the satellite cables in the Sky box, the copper cable had bent and rather than going into the centre hole in the plug at the back of the box, it was touching the outer casing. I straightened this copper wire so that when I plugged it back in, it went into the central hole. Now all channels are available

???? I'm not sure what you mean

Sky+ only works with a fully functioning Satellite Dish

If you're in a flat, you may be connected to a communal dish, rather than having your own. If so, it's your building's management team you need to contact, rather than Sky, as they're responsible for the signal in your flat.
