New sky box

Hi

My dad has an old sky box which he hasn't changed for years. This box is now starting to have a burning smell, and a sort of arcing noise. My dad being 83,doesnt remember his password to contact sky by phone. I have his account number, and name and address, but can't do anything because when I ring they need the password to progress with my discussion. I'm just wondering how I can remedy this problem without the password?

@janeclarke1969  Unfortunately not, it's also important to note sky no longer sells or supports sky plus hardware including pairing of viewing cards to second hand replacement boxes

If you are able to call Sky on your Dad's behalf and if you tell the call handler that you don't know the password they should be able to answer another question that can be used to identify you/your father.

It will be beneficial to call Sky when you're with your Dad. Even if he doesn't know the telephone password they should be able to ask questions to confirm he is the account holder… then he can set up a telephone password for the future and then pass the phone to you to speak on his behalf.

 

You can discuss your Dads options moving forward which will be upgrading to Sky Q or moving to Glass / Steam to continue to view Sky content through a Sky subscription.
