You must have a very old Sky box. Does it only have a Scart output? Most modern smart TV's have now stopped having Scart sockets and gone fully digital with HDMI now being the norm.
If your box doesn't have an HDMI output then yes, you'll need to replace it.
You can get second hand Sky+HD boxes on eBay. Look for a DRX890 or DRX895 type box, then all you'd need to do is swap your viewing card over.
