Sky plus pixelation, no help available from sky

Sky no longer support Sky+ or Sky+HD set ups (where you've posted) although Customer Services are still available for telephone or online advice. 

They won't send an engineer if one is required.

That's correct, because the Sky+ platform hasn't been manufactured for a decade. Your options are to book (and pay) a local independent satellite television specialist or move to a current Sky product: Q, Glass or Stream.

 

Pixelation on live content but not on-demand is almost certainly dish related.

 

If it's both live and on-demand then the suspicion would be the HDMI cable.
