How to select the scart input on the SkyHD box?
I want to connect an older DVD player using its scart output through the Sky box so that I can view it on the TV.
I cannot find any setting on the Sky remote to select an input from the scart plug.
Is there not some way to do this please?

@TonyGlazier Any scart sockets on the box are output only, you cannot view another external device through a Sky HD box.

Re: How to select the scart input on the SkyHD box?
Connecting more than one SCART device to a SCART television set typically uses a SCART switch or block, which were once very common.
As @GD1 indicates, you cannot daisy-chain a SCART DVD player through a Sky+ box where the television set only has HDMI input: the box cannot convert analogue to digital.
Note that the SCART connector is approaching half a century in age.

Re: How to select the scart input on the SkyHD box?
My DVD player has two SCART sockets (1 x In, 1 x out), thus you connect the DVD to the TV and the Sky bo to the DVD so you can passthru the Sky signal via the DVD

@TonyGlazier unless you have a very old Sky+ box with two scart sockets on the rear panel, it can't be done, I'm afraid.

Re: How to select the scart input on the SkyHD box?
there are many old sky+Hd boxes still out there, and can be used just as 'Annie+UK' says..
and timmy, amazon has hundreds of scart boxes to do many things..
But do be carfeful, some sellers just say'HDMI' when there is no HDMI..
some newer black sky ones have developed a 'hate' for the scart, giving a blue screen ..
If you need a scart to feed a modulator or recoder, you can get a HDMI to scart converter, and a HDMI splitter, to feed it..

Re: How to select the scart input on the SkyHD box?
@comnut Note that secondhand boxes can no longer be used to replace a box as you can no longer pair your viewing card with a different box, this is not an issue if you only want a freesat viewer as a card is not required for that
