Now I get HBO as part of my Sky+ package, how can I log onto the HBO Max app on my iPad? HBO doesn't recognise my Sky account and all the instrictions are for Sky Q customers logging onto their TV app.

@CMH0610 so far as I'm aware, you can't, because there's no sign up required for Sky+ customers. HBO ,Max content is provided to you via On Demand on a Sky+ box, because it can't host the HBO Max app as Sky Q and Sky Stream boxes do.
